Default CC 1878 brilliant unc $1 for £5!

This is the price advertised in the April 1967 edition of Coin News
magazine UK, well 100/- if you want accuracy.

EF were 45/-, £2.25.

What would the values be now?. Billy

According to the latest Coin World Values (not an advertisement) an MS-60
goes for $250 and an EF-40 goes for $125, half the cost of an Unc., which is
closely proportional to your 1967 prices. Understand that the expression
"Brilliant Uncirculated" used in the ad had no reliable meaning then, and
has no reliable meaning now.

hmm... with current exchange rates... £120 (or 2400/-) for the ms60 and £60
(or 1200/-) for the ef40 -- about 24 times inflation (with respect to coins
)
