Well, if there is one ting I have discovered about 8-tracks and players
is that there is very little truly rare stuff. Good stuff comes and goes. Speaking of which...are you the one looking for the Recotron carts? I finally found one. Danno Dan #3 wrote: Nope. Cannot understand how some folks get the good stuff and others don't - if ya know what i mean. Besides, My Sansui Run cool under heavy operating conditions. Not too fond of the line of amp he's using - too much noise at an idle and run too hot too soon. Buddy of mine had one of the same make and even tho it was damn close to show room quality, it had it's flaws (noisy with no signal/idle - distortion at high volume). He eventually went to a reconditioned 4 Channel Marantz (with Quad scope). Gives my Sansui a run. Dan #3 wrote: I have 2 envious words for ya: YOU DOG! I'm lucky to find in these parts a decent deck of any brand! I'm sure they have found a warm and loving home right next to your amp! *Fantastic Dude!* Dan #3 (with only the Akai 80D-SS, still waiting for surgery) -- Daniel and Kathy Gibson http://www.katestrackshack.com "Kate's Track Shack -Your Internet Home For Inexpensive 8-tracks!!" Yep! - but only 1? Those things must be a regional thing or something.

Win-Gibs are a good idea, but a precision cut piece of foam will also
work. The problem with the Win-Gibs, is the guys who make them and sell them are assholes. I had an 801 deck, they're ok, very good sound comparable to an Akai or Wolly, but the DC motor is a neg on the 801. It's good to see you don't let Gibson or anyone else do your thinking for you. Cool beans. |

I saved that email pic you sent me, one of these days I have to hunt
those down for you, there's about a half dozen here somewhere. |
