antique Oriental Horses and Tiger
Hello all...I could do with a little help today.
This morning I purchased three items because my wife and I loved them, but I can't find any information on them at all. Can anyone help us please. The items in qusetion are two horses and one recumbent Tiger. They seem to be made from wood formers but the real beauty of them is they have tiny pieces of what looks like bone, shell or Ivory pinned or stuck to the former in the manner of a mosaic. All the hundreds of tiny pieces have been cut and shaped to fit and the overall effect is wonderful. The Tiger especially is superb...measuring 7" in overall length...if anyone can give any thoughts about these...where they were made, how old they might be, what the material actually is etc, we would be very grateful indeed. Thanks in advance...Doug |
