Where is the largest Roo?
Alan & Erin Williams wrote:
Physically, what's the largest representation of a Kangaroo (full-bodied) on a coin? Are there any with just a 'shoulders-up' Roo bust? Old Australian copper pennies? They had a full kangaroo and were huge; same size as a British penny I think. -- Andrew |

I think its the Aussie silver 1 dollar coins.
I also have an aussie silver 1 dollar (1995) showing a roo from neck up. I posted it on a.b.p.n a month or so back along with other aussie roo's and kook's, but if i recall you can't get a.b.p.n. via youtr ISP. Want a scan by email? "Alan & Erin Williams" wrote in message ... Physically, what's the largest representation of a Kangaroo (full-bodied) on a coin? Are there any with just a 'shoulders-up' Roo bust? Alan Alan If you include the 1oz silver bullion rounds, then the '95 is the best "undraped bust" portrait. If you mean genuine, dinki-di, non-made-for-collectors coins, then the 1938-1964 penny is the biggest. (As shown he http://mendosus.com/coins/penny-4.jpg ) I've got about 30-40 kg of 'em. Want some? |
