....when you read this sentence? -- "This is a 1873 CC Trade Dollar that I
purchased from a Chinese antique dealer."

"Trade dollar" and "Chinese" tells you
everything you need to know.

Why even take a chance?

He prefers PayPal, he sez, and then wants 3% surcharge if you pay that way.
That used to be against the rules for stateside sales, maybe it still is?

Check out his feedback, it's hilarious! He neg'd a seller (from China
coincidentally) because he claimed the coin he purchased was a fake. Anyone
else see the irony in that?

Ha! Irony, indeed! I had missed that. Well, maybe he got part of his loss
back with the $170 that he is getting from the unsuspecting buyer of the
Trade Dollar.

Ummm--my first thought was the movie Gremlins. Ever see that? They purchased
one of the little furry critters from a chinese antiques dealer. Just like
this coin here-- once they took the cutie home they found out their purchase
was not what it appeared to be either.
Although I doubt a coin could destroy an entire small town though.

Checking THAT sellers feedback is even more eye-opening. That seller has
6-7 feedbacks claiming he sent fake coins, and he claims each of them is
"trying to rip off me". Must be a conspiracy!

Bottom of first page, second page is more interesting.

My first thought is that "CC" in this case stands for "Chungking,
China."

He left out the final part of the sentence -- "...for fourteen dollars..."
