Default Resaccing note

If you're resaccing a pen, get the biggest sac that will fit in the
barrel, then choose a sac one size smaller to actually use. The biggest
sac that will go in the barrel will often expand just enough once you
glue it in, to make it difficult to get the barrel free of the section
again, should you need to. Also, a sac that is slightly too big will
sometimes put too much wear and tear on the lever. You will know if
this is so by the lever not moving freely enough during refilling.
Finally, I have found that a sac slightly too big will sometimes lead
to blotting and flow problems.

Always cut the sac so that once glued on to the section, the sac is at
least a half-inch shorter than the barrel, or it will sort of shrivel
when you put the barrel and section back together, and this will
greatly reduce the suction and ink capacity of the sac.

You can test your pen to see if the sac is holding a reasonable amount
of ink, by slowly raising the lever (over a bottle of ink) and counting
the drops that fall out. There should be at least as many drops as the
size of the sac. For example, a size 17 straight sac (works with most
larger pens) should suck up at least 17 drops of ink. And a size 15
straight sac (good for most smaller pens) will suck up 15 drops
minimum.

Just random notes, on the moron level, that are not always spelled out
in the books.
