Default Odd Volumes Redux

A year or two ago I picked up volumes 2 through 5 of the first edition
of Washington Irving's _Life of George Washington_ (Putnam, 1855-59).
As with other incomplete sets, I thought to myself, "I will spend the
rest of my life looking for the first volume." This week, I found
volume 1, not the 1855 printing, unfortunately, but the 1860 one at
least. It is a little shorter in height than the first edition, but at
least the set now has each volume. Remarkably, all are in very good
condition.

Good for you! I never know quite what to do with incomplete sets.
I will say that I regret getting rid of some of them. But those
that remain are pretty much ignored, and their ongoing needs
remain unaddressed.
