Scans of stamps in online auctions
Maybe I'm just clueless, but can anyone else figure why people take
pictures of stamps, then post these pictures of cards or stock pages nearly wiped out with flash reflection? One example is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ategory=35 03 Of course the rest of the pictures appear as though he threw everything on the floor figuring that would give a great idea of what he is selling. I'll admit he got quite a few bids, but I've seen auctions with stamps mounted on one page and all washed out by flash reflection. Don't people know about scanners when doing a single page. If you don't have a scanner then you are either stuck with using a flashgun
or just plain taking the photo near a window or with the lights on. Lots of ways to diffuse flash glare - easy way is to stick a piece of white card over the flashgun - the room gets filled with light rather than just getting a blast in the middle of the frame. -- Cheers - John Mycroft coryton_at_cobbsmill_dot_com |
