Default Looking for info about a St Dupont pen

I have recently come into possession of three fountain pens. One of
them is a St Dupont brown Chinese lacquer pen in the original box. The
nib seems to be tagged 18kt and it was made in France. It also has the
original tag in the box that indicates that it is a No 28573Y.

How can I find out more information about this pen? My initial google,
ebay, and newsgroup search did not come up with anything definitive,
but did lead me to this newsgroup. I've poked about recent postings
but nothing seems applicable to the pens that I have.

Is the number a model number that I can lookup somewhere? Does anyone
think that this might have some value? Is there a good resource online
that can be used to set a value to this and the other (a Mont Blanc and
a Parker) pens?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Perhaps you've done this but, if not, try contacting S. T. Dupont directly.
Here's their web site: http://www.st-dupont.com/home.html.

Incidentally, it's not "St Dupont" (as in "Saint Dupont") but S. T., which
stand for Simon Tissot.

I have one Dupont, and it's my favorite pen. NOTHING (not even my Pelikan
800) writes more smoothly, and is more reliable.

You may find that serial number written on the pen somewhere also. On my
Dupont, it's on the right side of the clip (as you face the clip; or, posted
on the pen and held in writing position, on the left side); you need a loupe
or some other magnifying glass to see it (at least my eyes do).

Sounds like a fine pen you have! Enjoy!

Hal,

Thanks so much for the information! I knew I was coming to the write
(sorry, couldn't resist) place.
