Default Ugly new UNPA stamps, engraved by Slania

From Fasziniation, a magazine in German, issued by the United Nations PA, I
have learned that on Feb. 4, 2005 this PA will issue a set of 3 stamps and 3
miniature sheets. It is actually 3 times the same stamp, non perforated,
with borders in different colors. The stamp is dedicated to the 60th
anniversary of the UN.

It is so ugly, at least on the reproductions in the magazine, that I won't
propose you this time a scan (you'll surely have the occasion to see it on
the site of one of our participants .

I've just tried to find an image of it on the specialized UNPA Europe site:
http://www.unpa.unvienna.org/
but no one of the colored words represented a link.

This hasn't hindered this page for being visited a bit less then 1,400,000
times since 1/1/99 (something that I could see in Firefox, but not in IE).

Interestingly enough, the article in Fasziniation speaks also about the
stamps that Slania engraved for his own pleasure. You can take a look at
some of them on:

I couldn't resist and have scanned two of three stamps:

Don't blame the scan, it isn't bad at all.

Correction: the stamps are described as perforated 12, but this isn't
visible on the presented images. The stamps on the sheets (exactly the same
design) aren't perforated, as stated in the magazine.

Machin did a better drawing at age 5 or 6. See previous thread by Mette.

I found links on the UNPA site, but they say the designs are preliminary:

No name of a designer or something like this is given, only the name of the
engraver, Mr. Slania. He was surely paid for his work.

On one of the pages from the UNPA magazine there is presented something that
looks like a photograph, and that shows bigger what is shown smaller on the
stamp. It's a huge meeting room.

Nowhere it is written that the design of these definitives is preliminary
(which would be really good news). I think that this definitive it
definitive, because the whole magazine is foreseen for getting orders.
