i'm just saying, all these people are better than ebay.
no one uses confirmed forensic detectives, so everyone is going to make
mistakes. but at least all the people i mentioned and sue mentioned use
authenticators. Ebay does not. and there's no bg checks on sellers and
like i said, any guy with a print lab and a marker can sell on ebay.
there are no dealers in new mexico selling hundreds of items to the
auction houses.
but sue, sorry, there are no marketing experts checking this site.
NONE. and with all the lame arguing back and fourth, there never will
be. you can't separate the truth from fiction FROM ANYONE on this group
(yes that includes me, but it also includes EVERY ONE OF YOU) because
petty little arguments end up here and name calling for the sake of
name calling happens just about every day here.
just like when i say "you should try someone else like r and r auctions
for your guy gilchrist book," it becomes this. NONE OF YOU have ever
really done any research on any of these companies. you just hear
things and take them as gospel.
sure, i know that the guys from psa dna read some of this stuff, why,
because they contact me. I know autographworld reads this, or has
someone read it, why, because they have contacted me after something is
said etc. sure, they don't open their mouths or anything when it comes
to the group. but that number is few and far between the gumps who just
lurk here, say something derogatory about someone else, then disappear.

i do stick to this group for information...alot of times, i don't have
time to look anymore, but i do look, alot. but i like that when i make
mention of a better alternative to ebay, i get reprimanded by someone
who doesn't even know ebay any longer and says it's "the place to be"
when it's clearly not. especially in the case of what this topic was
about in the first place. i was just trying to help a guy get top
dollar for his/her stuff and not have to hawk the item (basically
showing that it's worth nothing) when the item is worth a little more
than what they are asking.

sadly, instead of just letting a comment be, sue (and i'm not trying to
start an argument) you haven't looked at any of the simple facts and
just feel a need to be right...so i'll let it go at that...you aren't
right in any way. and to be part of the group, you need to be a group
and STOP needing to be correct. i gave MANY options, all of which are
better than ebay.

Again, the problem with your posts are you are always so emphatic.
Truth is, that's what ****es people off... you don't know who is
lurking in this group. You don't know why they lurk, where they live
or what they do. So don't make stupid statements like this

That's YOUR opinion and it's MY opinion. My thoughts are Ebay still
rules unfortunately from sheer volume. People who don't use the net
much even know Ebay. They don't know R&R auction. Ebay is the single
largest auction entity on the entire net. With that said, they are
the largest simply because of items bought and sold and have the
largest customer base. Therefore, more people will look at your items
than on R&R. It's not worth arguing with you; that's my only point on
the subject. And you can put a reserve on Ebay if you don't want your
item sold for less. I do agree people want a bargain and a lot of
Ebay is now crappy items and scams. That's not an issue. He may get
more items for his book on R&R and he might get more for it on Ebay.
In my opinion, he'll get more traffic on Ebay and if the item is
worded just so, he's got a better chance at getting more.

What the problem with Ebay is, is about 80% of the people listing
stuff are morons. They don't put photos, they won't answer emails,
they have private auctions or feedbacks, they won't scan in things for
people, they don't answer questions, they charge too much for
shipping... they don't word things correctly. They misspell things.
They make the auctions too short. They don't put enough information
in the description. They put the wrong price on the item (some people
are ridiculous and some don't put enough; making their auctions look
skeptical). It's all a matter of marketing and knowing what you are
doing. If you did everything perfect, you'd have a better shot at
getting a good deal on Ebay if you're a buyer and more people
interested in your item (potential for bidding war) if you are a
seller. If you are selling something nobody is interested in, it
wouldn't matter if you were on Ebay or R&R would it?

Again, it's just my opinion. He may get more on R&R; but he might
not. It's just who is in the market for that item and how good it's
proven to be by proof and description/price etc.

places like sotheby's, maestro net and r and r auctions
wrote in message
oups.com...

lol.....don't put R&R auctions in the same category because they don't have
a freakin clue and aren't in the same league. Look at the minimum bid level
on some of that stuff.....an amateur is setting the starting bids. A lot of
these lesser known auction houses also allow the sellers to bid on their own
stuff.

you think it's stupid to call people cowards? that's just perpetuating
that it's ok to slander people anonomously and not really have to go
through the burden of proof to back up accusations.

always got to have the last word huh?

No, I am commenting on your always emphatic comments... you say things
like "always" "never" and other such innane things. That's one of
the things that gets everyone mad. You interpret things wrong too.
How you cam up with calling people cowards I have no clue; I don't
even remember that being in the subject and if it was, it's not
something I commented on. Again, always twisting words to go on
subjects you want.

I have no idea what this whole post is about. Must be commenting
about someone else, because I never commented on anything you say here
below.

Barefoot...
Unfortunately, I am posting this once(and just once)...
I have been reading this and can't stop myself from laughing. There is
one point that you are leaving out here, and the main reason that you
are pumping these other sites...
YOU CAN'T SELL ON EBAY!!!!!!
You have been kicked off and suspended how many times????
Of course you are going to pump these other sites, because their
traffic is 1000X less than ebay!
I don't know anything about these sites and can't comment intelligently
about them. But, I know this... you would be selling on EBAY if you
were allowed to. You are not allowed to, so you have to go elsewhere.
Out!
