I'd just like to echo Allison's point here. The best way to deal with trolls
is to ignore them, and the best way to ignore them is by writing essays
about them, about other trolls, about times you yourself trolled other
newsgroups, and about how you went about naming your trolls, and what they
looked like, and what their favorite foods were, how the felt emotionally,
and really just about as many details as you can remember about them to bore
people to death with. Because as has been pointed out repeatedly, the best
way to "not [even] remote[ly] acknowledgment in any post that they even
exist" is to devote entire posts to them in entire threads that are devoted
to them. Otherwise you'll never get rid of them.

Touche.

Please be advised that the following have no connection to "Fundoc".

Pangarune Corner

The list is inaccurate in that regard. I cannot speak to the other names
used.

Hi,

Does anyone know all of the "fukdup" aliases so I can killfile them in
one go?

I'm sure he'll add more but every little helps.

I do like the feature on Goggle that lets you see past activity for a

that it keeps him off the streets.

I feel safer even based in the UK.

Willow,

I think the post to which you responded was part of the trolling. The troller
wanted to draw in a number of people to make denials and keep things roiling.
Consider how closely the poster's name is to "nom de plume".

I realized sadly when I saw the list that we have not heard from Paghat in a
good while, which is a real loss to the group. She is one of the most diligent
researchers of any topic on which she writes. Look up some of her posts. I
remember one was commented on as being an archetype of how to research the
publishing history of a book.

I only just learned a couple weeks ago from reading James Ellroy's "My Dark
Places" that Jack Webb actually wrote some books based on LA crimes. I intend
to keep my eye out for them.

You remind me of "The Jewelled Stairs' Grievance" a translation by Ezra Pound of
an ancient Chinese poem by Li T'ai Po. Pound presents it with commentary:

-------------------------------

The Jewelled Stairs' Grievance

The jewelled steps are already quite white with dew,
It is so late that the dew soaks my gauze stockings,
And I let down the crystal curtain
And watch the moon through the clear autumn.

Note: Jewel stairs, therefore a palace. Grievance, therefore there is
something to complain of. Gauze stockings, therefore a court lady, not a
servant who complains. Clear autumn, therefore he had no excuse on account of
the weather. Also she has come early, for the dew has not merely whitened the
stairs, but has soaked her stockings. The poem is especially prized because she
utters no direct reproach.

Everyone,

I posted most of this as a response in another thread, but I thought it
worthy of its own title.

Feeding trolls keeps them alive. Do not feed them and they will shrivel
up and die. It doesn't take much food to keep them alive. A single
morsel tossed to them will breath life into them.

Do NOT respond to a troll's message.

Do NOT mention a troll by name.

Do NOT even read the troll's messages if these will incense you --
better to killfile the troll entirley.

If you ignore a troll completely, he WILL eventually die. But EVERYONE
needs to cooperate.

Paghat doesn't appear to have posted anywhere in several months,
which is definitely a shame. I hope she comes back.

Good catch Francis! I bet the OP will think twice before trying to put one

I don't know Sue. I traced the email address and it looks genuine to me.
Perhaps you should do more research before accusing people of deception.
