FA: Vintage World Famous Events Magazine Set, c. 1913-14
Vintage World Famous Events Magazine Set, c. 1913-14
This is a vintage 82-set Magazine grouping titled, (The Story of the Greatest Nations and The Worlds Famous Events), published by Francis R. Niglutsch, New York, Copyright 1913-1914. This publication was sold only by subscription in complete sets only. Each publication (magazine) is comprised of 12 full-page illustrations, 12 pages of picture descriptions, and 24 pages of text. The set contains 10 photogravings printed on Japan-Vellum paper and several historical maps and over nin hundred and fifty other full-page illustrations printed on enameled paper. The set includes histories on the following countries: Babylonia and Assyria, The Hebrews, The Phoenicians, Egypt, Persia, Greece, Rome, Germany, Austria, France, England and its colonies, Russia, Spain, China, Japan, Turkey, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, The United States, South America, and much more. One of more interesting observations about this set are the reasons to buy and read this product. The back cover states a (Few Reasons Why) to read this.because it is entirely free from religious, sectional or political bias.the text narrative makes it thoroughly complete and reliable,.It will end the complaints of your children that history is dry...there is pronouncing vocabulary for each nation so you can use the names correctly in telling others what you have read and more. This set is almost complete. There are 77 issues in this set. It is missing issues 2-6 (i.e. 5 sequential magazines). With the exception of Issue number 1 which is a little tattered on the cover, all other magazines are in excellent condition. All of them have no torn, loose, or missing pages. There is no soiling, stains, or watermarks on any of the issues. This is a really nice vintage set, written during the beginning of the 20th Century by publishers with the mindset of World History and Events during that time period. The pictures alone are well worth the minimum bid. To see pictures, please view at: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=3586264746 |
