Default Getting better quality autographs on cards

My son has started a hobby of getting baseball players to sign his
baseball cards. He uses a Sharpie, but sometimes the autograph comes
out streaky. Buck Showalter told him it is because there is a sheen on
the card that needs to be removed. Does anybody have any suggestions
as to the best way to remove this sheen?

Buck Showalter is correct. It'd be best to give these a try beforehand and see what you like best:

1) You can use baby powder on glossy cards
2) You can also use an eraser to remove the gloss. People recommend this, but I wouldn't do it.
3) Get rid of the Sharpie and get a Lumocolor!!

Lumocolor markers can be ordered online from various office supply stores. I haven't ever had one ruined with a Lumocolor marker. But using the baby powder is best just in case someone uses a Sharpie.

Thanks rongantfan. I will certainly use recommendations 1 and 3. You
are the man.
