Babe Ruth jersey (from another newsgroup)
I agree with you. I don't understand why card companies keep doing
this. When it comes to cutting up wardrobe from a TV show fine... but when messing with true historic treasures it's insane. What's next???? Cremate his bones and mix them into the creation of a special edition baseball card? Todd F. -- Todd's Autograph Arena http://www.toddsautographarena.com "JHNJB" wrote in message ... Just curious what others think about this topic. I personally could not agree more with this post. Anyone? JC __________________________________________________ _____ Subject: Destruction of Babe Ruth Jersey From: XXXXX Date: 6/28/2003 10:13 PM Central Daylight Time I recently read in the paper that Donruss baseball cards have purchased one of only 3 known Babe Ruth home jerseys. They plan on chopping it into little bits and sticking it in baseball card packs. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseb...h-jersey_x.htm This, to me, is horrible. It's like cutting up a Monet painting, or an original Honus Wagner baseball card, or the Lincoln monument, and selling the bits on the street corner. I e-mailed them and said I wouldn't ever buy another card they make if they do this. Nor, eventually, will my children. Perhaps you might agree . . . __________________________________________________ |

I am not a sports fan in any way, but this is IMO unspeakable.

I totally agree with your sentiments, but unfortunately you are dealing with a
big corporation and they think they can make money doing this. That is their only concern. |
