these have not been released in chicago (ironically this was where the govt
previewed them) and are being widthheld indefinitely. what other towns are
on the GW blackout list, and where have they been released? and why exclude
certain locales in the first place? thx.

What makes you think they are not being released to any financial
institution in Chicago? Is it not possible that just the banks you have
gone to aren't participating in the program?

If the Federal Reserve or some other group is doing such a thing I'm
sure the Mint would love to know.

========
I'm in a SW Chicago burb (surrounded by Chicago on 3 sides) and my
problem is the bank sells them out as fast as they come in. They
tried putting a double order in and were told that wasn't possible.
I was at the bank today, cashing in change and some guy, who has been
trying to get some was ticked he missed out again. The rolls come
in Tuesday AM, sold out within a few hours. I'll call the bank
Friday and Monday to see if I can get some placed aside. Got a
whopping 7 of them from a teller change drawer LOL. The news about
the error coins isn't helping.

I live in the Chicago area, & I got a roll from a bank on Feb. 16, &
another roll from a different bank on March 2.

Just because your bank branch wasn't carrying them doesn't mean that
they're not releasing any in the region.
