Default Offers? G H Elliott, "The Original Chocolate Coloured Coon" photoand letter, 1954

Dear Group,

Before trying eBay, I thought I would give the only autograph NG a chance at this
rare autographed photo and letter (please note, I am not a regular poster, so please
forgive any inappropriateness)

G. H. Elliott was a British Music Hall artiste in the 40s and 50s, known as "The
Original Chocolate Coloured Coon". In 1954 he stayed at a distant relations hotel in
Portsmouth, and forgot to pay for his bottle of beer. The signed photo and letter
came with a postal order for the beer. The letter is very genteel and tells the
story of the beer :-) Quite comical in itself really.

Anyway, photos here :

The postcard is of the Hotel.

Offers over the next week please or it goes on eBay. Paypal preferred.

Hi

Out of interest here is some more about Elliott. This autograph is taken
from an old book I acquired and posted.

Would bwe curious as to whether the signature is worth anything. I know he
had a long career and died 1962 but suspect he signed loads of things/

Cool, thanks for that Peter,

I suspect that the letter will be more valuable to any collectors than just the
photo, but the two together would make a nice addition to any Music Hall collectors.

Cheers
