Getiing coins certified
It's a bit confusing figuring out the exact cost to get coins graded by
either PCGS or NGC. If I sent five coins for grading what would be my total cost.I'm thinking the economy(21 days). Is it $12 per plus shipping both ways? Thanks,Pete |

Thanks,Pete Right now, for PCGS, economy is $18 per coin + shipping, maximum coin value of $300 per coin. If the value a coin is over $300, you must go with "regular", which is $30 per coin + shipping. You cannot send gold coins through "economy" http://www.pcgs.com/grading_list.chtml For NGC, it is $16 per coin + shipping, same restrictions, and $30 for "Regular". They have gold coin services too. http://www.ngccoin.com/services/services.asp Mike |

More question Getiing coins certified
Besides grading fee, may be one should also conisider a related
question. What are the expected outcomes from PCGS and from NGC? NGC posts the number of coins sent in for grading and the results of these coins: For example, as of today, a total of 5516 1993 ASE proof coins has been graded. 144 of them were graded as pf70, 5189 were graded as pf69. Similar information, however, is not freely available from PCGS. Can anyone who has access to the above information speculate what would be the outcome if the same 5516 coins were sent to PCGS? More question Getiing coins certified
PCGS has graded about 30% fewer coins and the percentage of PF70 viz PF69 is 0.5% or about 1/4x that of NGC. wrote: Besides grading fee, may be one should also conisider a related question. How about the number PR69 as a percent of graded coins? wrote: Besides grading fee, may be one should also conisider a related question. What are the expected outcomes from PCGS and from NGC?
