you see all the time on eBay sellers getting even the easy stuff
wrong, such as cropping and focus, with tiny off-color blurred
pictures against a busy background. That wasn't yours, was it?

Hmmmm.
Been a while since I sold anything on the 'bay.
Here's the template for the last item:
http://mendosus.com/the-bay/forsale.html
(Photos taken with a Sony Mavica - coin stayed in a hard plastic capsule.)

Here's some more recent shots - scans actually -
http://mendosus.com/decimal.html
Being scans, not photos, they suffer (of course) from intense directional
lighting.
None too shabby ne'ertheless, I reckon.

What kind of scanner do you use? Those are very good pictures for a
scanner. Very good.

boring 1793 Flowing Hair dollars... g

Caught me with my expertise down.
(I don't collect US coinage - apart from some really common stuff in my world
collection)

I would like one of those gorgeous *1804* busts, though.

I don't know how things are down there in Australia, but here in the
U.S., talking about someone's wife this way could get you punched in
the nose.

Yes, I've heard that Americans can be like that.

Both the punch in the nose and the punch in the mouth are rather
amateurish and pugilistic(IMO). I much prefer the bat across the back of
the head style. A much more professional finish can be achieved this
way, especially with a baseball bat and ample rooom to swing.

I think that being deserving of a poke in the chops due to rudeness and
lack of civility is an International issue, and not limited to
Americans.

Some people like to aim their punches at the nose, as that is the
easiest way to draw blood, sometimes spectacularly, and does cost the
offender a shirt. I prefer to aim at the mouth, which was the source of
the offense. It tends to impart a more permanent lesson.

Yup.
That makes sense.
