I took my Pelikan M600 with me to our cabin (elevation 5600 ft).
Started to use it and had ink all over the pen and in the barrel.
Guess I should turn back the piston pump before I go?

Or empty it. Or fill it up all the way, so that there's not a lot
of air in the barrel when the altitude changes.

I'm not sure what you mean by "ink all over the pen and in the
barrel". In the barrel, or in the cap?

I was reading the archives and Frank Dubiel said a lot of the leaking
from pressure changes has to do with the ink in the feed and not the
pen. Hold the pen nib up and clean with a tissue until no more ink comes
out of the nib. The post was in relation to air travel.

Sorry wasn't too clear about that. There was ink on the pen near the
nib where you would hold it. I also cleaned some out of the cap with
kleenex. I didn't pay much attention to how much ink was left in
pen when I started. I noticed this didn't happen to my Namiki or
Paker with cartridges. I agree with the empty or full concept, thanks
for the input.
