Is it just be or do others find that ICGS seriously UNDERgrades
Canadian
coins?
I've gotten some real beauties graded MS61 or MS62 that should be at
least
MS65.

If it's true if I were you I would not be telling anyone. Billy

Why not?

If I told you I would have to kill you. Billy

"They undergraded - and thus, underpriced it - before I bought
it. So I can crack it out, and send it to some other grading
service that will grant me a higher-value slab. So I can resell
it for more bucks."

Did I get that right?

No

No such thing as a higher-value slab.

Never heard of ICGS. Looks like a service with a limited reputation.

http://www.icgs.us/

ICCS is the preeminent certification service for Canadian coins.

CCCS is also well respected.

Yep, JAM - JAM my typo up your ass and make sure it doesn't hit your
brain on the way in.

Too late.

ICCS grades Canadian coinz to Canadian standards.

PCGS and NGC grade Canadian coinz to U. S. standards.

A Canadian MS61/62 may indeed be equivalent to a US MS65 ...

When I ustadeal in Canadian coins, I found that only a small
perzent of PCGS/NGC coins would sell at the same grade (i. e.,
PRICE) in Canada as similarly-graded ICCS coins would ...

(U. S. customers, on the other hand, were generally quite
a bit less discriminating ...).

Ya, OK, but what about coins graded by ICGS?

I do collect ICCS slabbed coins ($1 silver) but I have seen more overgraded
coins than undergraded!
IMO ICCS overgrades several of the coins they slab.
But I am not a good grader so please take my opinion with much salt and
pepper...

I think I'll have a nice, big, juicy prime rib with my salt and pepper,
thanks! You don't have to be a good grader to recognize overgrading, gogu.
It's everywhere.

Indeed James:-)
When I first decided to start collecting raw and slabbed Canadian silver
dollars I was hearing of how tough ICCS is, how they undergrade coins, etc,
etc, etc...
Later I saw so many overgraded ICCS slabbed silver dollars that now I do not
trust them anymore.

Um...

I think the original poster was mentioning "ICGS" while you are
talking about "ICCS"

I have found ICGS to be on a par with NGC for overall consistency
in grading.

Regards

Dan

I've been confused by this entire thread. I've never heard of "ICGS".
Did the OP mean "ICG" or "ICCS"?
