WWI Italian 8th Lancers Busby w/ Orig Cloth Cover

This original WWI Italian 8th Lancers Busby is in excellent condition and
includes its rare OD wartime cloth cover and feather. The Busby is complete
with liner, sweatband, and chinstrap and 100% original. This came out of a
local military collection who the owner is downsizing. The many helmets I
have been recently listed have also come from this collector. The Busby is
of black rabbit fur and has the red/white/green National cockade with 8th
Lancer Regiment front plate badge. The top is flat oval shaped leather. On
the left side and backside is a brass hook used for supporting a bullion
type cord. The inside has a red silk lining and marked with an eagle and
star manufacturers label and (Unione Militare Roma). The helmet has a light
brown leather sweatband and black chinstrap. Also included is the matching
wartime cloth cover. It is of a greenish-gray color and has the 8th Lancer
Regiment insignia sewn on the front. The cover has string-ties at the base.
There are a couple of small tears (1 ¼ inch being the largest) to the cover
as seen in the pictures. The hole in the front of the cover above the cloth
insignia is not a tear, but rather an access slot for the Busby helmet plate
to slide through. Also included is a correct bird feather for this Busby
(although not original to the head piece). This Busby is in excellent
original condition and very seldom found. It has not been reworked at all
