According to the bank, it's not a Nazi death camp guard tower, but rather:
"Picture of Jewish Brigade volunteers during WW II and of a pre-State look-out tower; text from Sharett's radio address after his return from a visit to the Jewish Brigade in Italy." This isn't a guard tower, it's a look-out tower.
There are many examples of towers on notes, from the towers in castles, in towns, and even airport and racetrack towers. Do these all give you the creeps, too? My point is that the towers on the concentration camps were also lookout towers. Put it into context with the notes issued in Orianenburg concentration camp that depict the lookout towers and even barbed wire. |
