I dunno, but it has to be truly abhorrent.

I was looking at some kiloware last eve and noticed a Zim $1 stamp.
Yes, $1. Didn't remember about the inflation spiral, but Blair got me
going again. (Dag nabbit!)

I wonder what the worst inflation ever recorded was? I thought the
German post-WWI inflation was bad, then we had Hungary and other
places coming up with new names for their currency! (Pengo)

Does anyone know, offhand, which country has suffered the worst
inflation?

Yes, that is roughly the time period I was mentioning. Mugabe needs
to give up his tight rein on the country. The people do not deserve
this type of life.

I cannot lay my hands on the document, but I believe that Argentina after
WWII had several revaluations of 1000 each, so it is in the billions or
trillions. Hope that helps someone to find the site.

Rates of inflation of several hundred percent per month are often
seen. Extreme examples include:

* Germany in 1923 when the rate of inflation hit 3.25 × (10 to the
6th) percent per month (prices double every 49 hours)

* Greece during its occupation by German troops (1941-1944) with 8.55
× (10 to the 9th) percent per month (prices double every 28 hours).

* More recently, Yugoslavia suffered 5 × (10 to the 15th) percent
inflation between 1 October 1993 and 24 January 1994. (prices double
every 16 hours).

* The most severe known incident of inflation was in Hungary after the
end of World War II at 4.19 × (10 to the 16th) percent per month
(prices double every 15 hours).

Zimbabwe has passed Weimar Germany. I believe that it has passed that
of Greece and is now heading toward that of Yugoslavia. It's moving
too fast for me to measure.

Tracy:

That article is almost a YEAR old.
Inflation in Dec 2007 was 100,000 % per annum.
It is currently estimated at closer to 150,000 % p.a.
