Default breakdown of ttm costs

I am debating mentioning this in my letters to the celebs... the cost
of signing ttm is expensive!

I just sent out earlier this week 16 autograph requests to New Zealand
mainly and a couple to the UK. The costs were about 1.70 each. I send
5x7 envelopes. The postage on the way back is about the same
equivalent in US funds (I've been putting 1.00-1.05 on the UK ones
and 2.00-3.00 in NZ stamps on those. Exchange rate works out
approximately the same as the outgoing postage. Making those photos
at best quality, I used 3 cartridges of ink (I still have half my pink
left for some reason). Those are 12-13.00 each With tax, envelopes
and cardstock, I cam to the conclusion that these 16 requests cost
about 95.00-100! WOW

That's what? 6.00-6.25 each!

Wow... I have another dozen to go. Man, am I the only one who the
lightbulb just went off for?

So, should I mention to the celebs that if they don't sign, please
send the remainders back as it was costly? I think it could be rude,
but then again, I am thinking some of these celebs don't give us a
second thought because they don't know what we go through. Not just
on the money end, but for example researching. I could research from
15 minutes to an hour or more per person for the autograph and
sometimes more than that to find and make a nice photo, print it and
do up the letter and envelopes. Ugh.

I am not complaining really. I would rather get ttm sigs than buy
them. That's even MORE expensive. So when valuing my collection for
insurance, I am slapping at LEAST 5-10 per sig!

Create hi-quality scans and have a printing place print them for 30
cents a pop. A couple of my local Rite Aids now print from a CD-R. I'm not
goint to use my printer anymore if I don't have to.

Ok, so you mean like going to Kinko's? I was thinking of maybe like
film developing place. I know those are not that cheap there because
the cheapest I could get them was like 2.50 each if I ordered 25. The
more you order of EACH print the less it was. I never tried Kinkos.
I've seen something at Office Max, but never went to ask. So you just
bring in your disk or CD and they'll do it? Sorry, never tried that
angle before. might be worth it after seeing my ink warping down like
that.

However, with that said, I should have clarified I got 32 photos and
not just 16 because I printed 2 5x7's on one sheet of paper still,
that ink is killing me!

Well, was just toying with the idea but haven't decided to do it. I
take that back. In my last letter to Marton Csokas, I mentioned
EVERYTHING I could think of why he should sign for me (including that
I think and that I won't bug him anymore). Six or seven times I tried
him. I am guessing ALL my letters were shredded or in a bag somewhere
like what Bronagh Gallagher does.

In case no one knows her, she's an Irish actress who admitted to
getting "6 or 7" letters a week and doesn't read the letters.
Apparently she opens them and keeps some things like the money because
in an interview on BBC, she said people send all kinds of stuff,
including money from all over the world.

If I may say, that's RUDE. My letter is sitting in her bag and if she
ever gets around to signing, I am not sure I even want it with her
attitude. Wow, a whole 6 or 7 letters a week. Oooooh.

area that are doing it. I don't know if you ahve Rite Aids in your area. If
it's successful they will launch it everywhere.

You think thats bad, I buy a 8X10 to send for every star I send a request
and also include a second item. Whether it be a script or a magazine
(tvguide, entertainment weekly, etc.) from my 2000-3000 magazine collection!
so take the cost of the 8X10 (9.99), magazine (tvguide $1.00 with
subsciption) plus postage (3.00) and back (3.00) plus I sometimes have to
buy a second item! Do the math! I'm not complaing, I love the hobby but
needless to say my collection doesn't grow as fast as everyone elses! But I
also have few failures!
