Default Warts and all stamp portraits

Reading the recent discussions on the UK Machins, it occurred to me
that - beautiful designs as they are - the Machins are hardly an
accurate representation of Her Majesty as she is now. Stamp designers
usually display rulers in the best light, with as few of the warts
evident as possible. So it's most refreshing to turn to the rulers of
the Indian State of Cochin, as they appeared between 1911 and 1949.

Warts, wrinkles, five o'clock shadows, and certainly no smiles for the
camera ...

Can anyone beat this lineup?

Did you see Rolf Harris's portrait?

Two less than flattering that come to mind,
are Queen Isabella of Spain with her double chin,
and the Hitler heads with greying hair.

I wonder what Her Majesty made of George Bush today,
with his gaffe over 1776.
I thought both handled it very well

No one has quite suffered under the burin than Queen Victoria
esp in the Australian states issues.

Here is one from Canada of HM, taken in 2005. Quite attractive, I
think,
even if it shows a few lines. I fully expect to have a few lines at
80 years old.

This forgery of a PEI stamp made Victoria look pretty ugly.

The original was much more complimentary.

If you want a REALLY bad example,
poor Mr. Marconi looks quite sea-sick on this stamp.

....or green with envy?

Mr. Marconi is noted for his colours,
red, blue, green, grey, yellow , bistre, and flesh.

Well, how about the real DRASTIC change between QV and the Chalon
Heads and those of the late 19th century, where she has warts to
spare. QV was a very lovely lady in that portrait.

Per QEII, keep the Machin head. Although she was nice enough to visit
and comfort those at Virginia Tech, trying to put out a portrait of
here right now would be, well, embarrassing.
