Default OZ catalogue [was : collectors participation]

"Sir F.A. Rien"
Go to:
http://www.bookfinder.com/?ref=bf_s2_hd_1
Change the funds and country to yours, then enter:
"Australian Commonwealth Specialists"
as the title and just
"White" as the author.
Right now there are three copies of the 1988 edition available for
under US$90. One in OZ and two in the UK.

On Nov 27 I replied :

Many thanks ! I just ordered a copy.
It may be the one in OZ at it will take 3 weeks to arrive !
A nice Xmas present :-)
The shipping cost of 6 € is reasonable.

And 4 weeks later, the Brusden-White has not yet arrived :-((

Following my inquiry, the seller (Alibris UK) just replied me :

========================================
I’m sorry to hear you haven’t received your order. Our records show your
order was shipped on November 27, and passed through our international
freight-forwarding service on December 1. They shipped your order to this
address:

Pierre COURTIADE
.......
FRANCE

It was shipped via ISAL or International Surface Air Lift, which
consolidates and delivers packages from the U.S. to international
destinations, handing the package to your local postal system.

The average transit time for packages shipped using this method is 2 weeks
to most locations, though delays of up to 45 days can occur. Delivery is
ultimately determined by the local mail service or by customs assessment
in your country. Packages are batched to reduce time in transit, so
unfortunately, these shipments cannot be tracked.

Please write back if your order doesn't arrive within 45 days from ship
date. Thanks for your patience, and for shopping with us!
======================================

So I imagine it has been shipped from the US.
May be on a sailing boat ????

;-)

I cross my fingers and next time I will choose a seller who charges more
expensive shipping costs !

I'll tell you the result !

All the best, Pierre Courtiade

On anything heavy, I always ask the seller how they are shipping and
IF there's a faster [more expensive] mode. This weighs in at FIVE
POUNDS -=without=- any packing materials. 6€ is a bargain!

IF it were SG shipping a couple of their catalogues [equal weight],
it'd be about 65€ !

When I bought the Statham Plating volumes, they came by boat from
the UK, usually 5 weeks. Air would have almost equalled the cost of
the books!
