The Gettysburg and a creamy1939-S Oregon, PCGS MS65, would be the last to
go, and I think I can avoid listing them. In fact, I have a standing offer
for the Gettysburg which I would have to consider strongly first, before I
listed it. I was going to list all of my classic commems back in December,
and I ended up pulling 8 or 9 out of the safe, leaving 15-20 in the safe.
Of the 8 or 9, I listed 2 or 3 in December, then looked through the
remainder last night and could only pull the trigger on two. What is really
aggravating is that I have tons of $5-$20 coins that I could sell without
batting an eye, but that is a time consuming way to raise a goodly amount of
cash. Still, I may find the time to do just that before I cut deeper into
my collection. Bill

Well Bill, I'd advise you to do what you can to hold onto as many of
the good ones as you can. The crunch will pass and you don't want to
regret selling any of those lovely commems. If you've got the time
then go ahead and get rid of the cheap ones. They wouldn't be hard to
replace and you probably wouldn't want to replace them anyway.

BTW, if it would help I'd buy a round of Blizzards, but I suspect the
delivery issues would couse you more trouble than it would be worth.

How about California, or Bay Bridge?

'my want list'

Nope. I've had them before, but not in the last two years, since my last
forced sell-off. They are on my want list, too, err, whenever I can start
looking at my want list. Bill

I pulled a decent portion of my commemorative collection out of

the
safe
back in December, with the intent of gritting my teeth and selling

them,
only for need of some cash. Well, it has been hard to make myself

list
any,
but I managed to put two up tonight. The Cleveland (ICG MS63);

was easiest since it is a duplicate, but still, I feel a small

pang.

The San Diego (NGC 65);

Aaargh, I am feeling kind of low. Quite a few others destined for

the
auction block got a temporary reprieve tonight. I am trying to

figure
out
how to misplace them, yet be able to find them when the storm
(financial) is
over.

Not to wish you any financial bad luck, but I'm waiting for the

bloody
Gettysburg to hit ebay.

Thanks for the thought, Randy. I am confident the crunch will pass, but it
is going to be tight. Getting into my time of the year (spring and
summer) will take care of 50% of my delinquincies and maybe I can figure a
way around the rest. The cheap stuff needs to go, but we are talking about
hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of auctions for $5, $10, and $20 coins.
It would be fun and neat if I were taking my proceeds and buying new coins,
as I have done in the past, but to take the proceeds and stick it into the
business - yuk. And, despite everything, if any rcc'er makes it to my
store, Blizzards are on me. Bill

Also, 26 halfs, 90%. Selling for bullion value rather than numismatic

never know. But, I wouldn't bet more than bullion value on it;

Moving this one up a little early on.

Thanks, George. Honestly, if you were to win at the current bid, I would
be happy. Of course, I only have face value in them, so anything now is
just gravy, anyway. Bill

No problem I bid on this type of thing just in case it bargains out.. I notice it is
getting close to melt now and still over 4 days to go before the snipping time....

A round consists of WHAT? How many RCCers are there and are you considering only the
regular posters or the lurkers too?

Ian's may get a little soft before it gets there.

Alan, I really can't afford to buy any commems right now, so you are
certainly invited to compete;

http://tinyurl.com/39rqr

I will probably give this coin more consideration than any other coin I have
bid on since I don't know when. While the seller uses the term "original
holder", I think it is not. According to the Q. David Bowers book, the
holder with the designer's autograph was a 1980s promotion, with the coins
that were used purchased on the open market. Still, I think it would be a
neat item to win. Bill

Thanks, Bill! That would be sorta neat. But I'm not optimistic about
my chances. I think that just today, in RCC, I committed to buying a
new four barrel carb, a DSL hookup and to fund an expedition in the
Gobi. ;-/
