Doesn't change the fact that Khaddafi suckered Bush into giving
him half a billion US taxpayer dollars and dropping the Reagan
sanction on Libya in return for dropping his non-existent
nuclear bomb project.

Bush just isn't very good at figuring out who has WMD and who
doesn't.

Demosthenes, with good oil money (as Libya certainly has and has had
for over 20 years) Gadadfi could have eventually got the nuke bomb
built. Good thing he quit! And he gave up much of the very deadly
weaponry he already did have. Why don't you read the book Shopping for
Bombs as it explains all this in excellent detail.

Another book which mentions Gaddafi's dropped nuclear bomb buidling
project (though only briefly) is Persian Puzzle. That book is also
available at amazon. That book just sort of mentions Libya, not
Gaddafi himself, getting out of the nuke arms race. Shopping for Bombs
is one of the best books on the subject of Libya, Saddam, and Gaddafi's
dropped nukebomb building aspirations.
