Default Are US denominations efficient?

Why not? If something is wrong with the purchase, a credit card
allows you to put a stop on the payment until the problem is resolved.

I agree. I buy all my coins with a credit card. I also pay it off in
full every month, and have never paid a cent in interest to a credit
card company. The added security plus the various "cash back" rebate
awards makes it a no-brainer.

Except if he is able to get a discount by paying cash. And there are
quite a few shops in the Netherlands where that is possible.

There is a gas station on Washington avenue across from the 55414 post
office that discounts gas by $0.03 a gallon if you pay cash.

That's always a bonus.
I just purchase a gas card from Walmart, who already have the cheapest gas
in town and by using that card I get $0.03 per gallon discount as well.

Note what I wrote. I can get a discount when I pay cash. That is notes
and coins. If I pay cash I can get a discount of 3% to 5% depending on
the shop (well, some shops will not do it, but many will). And I think
there are shops in the Netherlands that will *surcharge* you when you
pay with a creditcard. There are even shops that will surcharge you with
25 cent if the amount is less than a certain total when you pay with a
debitcard (that is the cost of a debitcard transaction). And, most
shops in the Netherlands do not even allow payment by creditcard at all.

No, but the dealer is committing a midemeanor, cheating the city/county.
