Default New Triumph Imperials at Arcamax???

Here's the ad.

http://arcamax.com/cgi-bin/shop?cat=...&offer=cs11418

I didn't think Sheaffer made Triumph nibs anymore. Is this Arcamax
making a mistake? Or are there new in box Triumphs still around? If
so, I'll take 5 of them.

Sheaffer doesn't make them anymore; Arcamax has been liquidating them for a
couple of years, they had thousands to begin with, now only a few left.
ValueCity and Tuesday Morning stores also had some last year at closeout
prices. These are just the ones Sheaffer dumped when they quit producing
them.

BTW, Sheaffer'Ss last incursion in triumph nibs was with the re-edition
of the Crest in the 90's.
And I'm sure that they fitted the new pens with a stock of early made
triumph nibs, as by the 90's Sheaffer had lost the machinery (not using
it or being dismantled as nobody there knew what were them made for),
and the workers with the skill to do the disgusting twelve steps needed
to make the nib and the four needed to fit them to the pen had been
retired.

This so called Triumph Imperials don't have the Triumph Conical nib, but
the PFM Inlaid nib that went after it's introduction to fit the first
Imperials (still with the Touchdown Filling System) and the Targa.

The denomination "Imperial Triumph" for this cheaper pen is ridiculous,
as sounds as a high end one, but you must think who managed Sheaffer'S
from the early 80s.
You will find here a nice goldplated or chrome plated nib, and a silver
plated cap in some cases. Not true gold nor true silver.

But they are the last well-crafted dependable pens that Sheaffer'S made.

Just to clarify some terms in this forum that has been always in the
technical-historical side of fountain pens.

Best regards,

Nicolás

BTW, If there is any penfriend that wants to give a little happiness to
my wounded Sheafferer'S soul, and can buy for me all the models
available in this Arcamax sale and ship them to Madrid, I'll we be very
obliged to her/him.
No joking, I'll pay all costs and send the benefactor a Jet Black and
Blue (discontinued) American Skrip ink bottles as sign of my eternal
recognition.

Thanks Morten, for the tip.

Just ordered 2 pieces. See what they do with intercontinental shipping. They
say delivery 4 to 6 weeks for international orders. Can't wait....
BTW: at the moment I ordered the ad said: just 41 left. Yesterday: 44. So
now only 39.... Sheaffer Triumph addicts be quick!
