Tech:W1800 selection problem...
Hi,
I disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled the selection mechanism of a Wurlitzer 1800. I obviously need a manual, but I was hoping for some advice before it arrives... If I select A1, the A1 pin will be activated. However, now there is a hum from a relay (or something, I don't dare to let it hum long enough to find out) in the junction box and if I press only the A key at this point A3 and D3 will be selected and the hum will stop. If I select A3, the A3 pin will be activated. Same hum, and when A is pressed D3 is activated and hum goes away. If I select D3 all is well (no hum) but each time I press D all relays are activated (as to make a selection) but no selection is made. If I cycle power, it goes away. There must be at least one short, but where should I look? If this kind of problem seems familiar, please let me know... : ) Best regards, Jonas |
