... ? "Pedro" ?????? ??? ?????? I usually cut stripes horizontally or a bigger mount in both directions to fit the stamp dimensions Well, I figured it this way: since I think I'll opt for black masks open in 3 directions, I believe that I should buy a strip with the right height (so the bottom is the "closed" side) for the "unusual" stamp and then cut the strip as long as it needs in order to host correctly the horizontal dimension of the stamp. Question: when the pre-cut masks say for example "35x35mm" and my stamp has the exact same dimensions, are the real dimensions of the mask a little larger (let's say 35,4x35,4mm) in order to protect the edges of the stamp?... I found this on Leuchtturm site, I suppose it answers my question: "...LIGHTHOUSE pre-cut SF mounts. For most standard sizes. Please note: the size of the mount is cut 4 mm larger than the actual stamp for that nice "centred" look. The sizes listed in the chart represent the size of the stamp. You do not need to add extra margin...". Is it the same with Prinz, Hawid, Showgard, etc? And BTW, what would be the best company (quality) among the three? tnx -- E' mai possibile, oh porco di un cane, che le avventure in codesto reame debban risolversi tutte con grandi puttane! ... If you were one of the stamp collectors who begins in this newsgroup talking about your philatelic webpage to which most people here provide constructive comments to improve it and only one person provided me comments as if it were a complete crap, you would understand what I'm saying. I think nobody likes to be crushed when starting a new activity by such a type of persons. He does not like very much new members (IMO). best wishes, Pedro Because I have found some time, I have looked back at the issue about which Pedro is suddenly complaining, three years after. I found that I tried to help him at that time, being just one among several other participants who did the same thing. The main, rightful criticism came from Bill, and not from me: "Interesting site. You put a lot of work into this effort. My overall impression, though, is that these are good scans of mostly bad stamps. Bill " That is what Pedro answered to all helpers, btw when replying one of my postings: -------- Newsgroups: rec.collecting.stamps.discuss From: "Pedro" Date: Sun, 8 Mar 2009 00:35:23 +0100 Local: Sat, Mar 7 2009 7:35 pm Subject: my stamps collecting webpage "Victor Manta" wrote in message ... Yes, I feel really grateful with all your comments which are encouraging. Thanks! I'm working on improving the webpage. Damaged and perforated stamps will be removed. I will try to obtain better scans of the rest. I will make a much better version of the Spain section with new unused stamps most of you will find interesting at the least. Thanks all, Pedro ------------- Fortunately for newsgroups, scripta manent. The good question is, which Pedro should we believe, the one of 2009 or the one of 2012? So much also for Pedro's: "He does not like very much new members (IMO)", a false claim that is unfavorable for the environment of this ng and is encouraging for mythical creations' dances of joy. -- Victor Manta ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spanish North Africa: http://www.sna-on.postalstamps.biz/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
