Picasso

... I have enjoyed the pages, Great! Then my mission is achieved ;-) but not the most of paintings. Of course, it isn't the fault of the webmaster if such frightful women were painted by him :-) Personally I don't see "frightful women" everywhere in his production, but a great number of other motifs -- of course, this is a matter of taste. But on a philatelic site I have, naturally, focused on what is available on stamps ;-) For years I'm searching on the Internet for an article, written by a French journalist (I think), in which he reproduces his interview with Picasso. The artist was quite aged then, and he explained that everything that he done was pure provocation, and not art as such. Has somebody already seen that article? You may be thinking of the interview by the British TV-journalist, John Richardson, to which I am referring on my site. It resumes interviews over time with all of Picasso's family. Paulo's son, Maya, Paloma, Claude, Francoise Gilot, and a number of his friends. It also shows shots of the artist live, in his various ateliers. I don't have the original thing, but have taped it from a recent transmission on Danish TV. It explains that he was deeply influenced throughout his life by his young sister Conchita's early death (from TB). Ann Mette Heindorff http://arthistory1.school.dk/picasso-intro.htm |
