Default New Machin and Country stamps for GB

As a result of tariff changes effective 1 April, new Machin
definitives will be sold from 28 March. They a 37p olive green
replacing the 35p for 2nd-class second weight step; 44p ultramarine
replacing the 42p basic rate for letters to Europe; 49p rust replacing
the 46p 1st-class second weight step; and 72p red replacing the 68p
airmail second weight stamp. As well as these four new stamps there
will be eight country pictorials, 44p and 72p for each country. All 12
stamps will be printed by De La Rue; the Northern Ireland pictorials
in lithography and the rest in gravure. There will be five official
FDCs (Machins plus four country sets). There will also be two
presentation packs, one for the new Machins and one containing the
eight pictorials. Full details will be in the next Deegam Report to be
issued in March
