Gilbert Chemistry Set - Searching
Hello,
If I am not in the proper group, please accept my apology. In either 1963 or 1962 I was given a Gilbert Chemistry Set as a gift. I am trying to locate such a set and have thus far have had no luck on the net, eBay, Craig, etc. I cannot even find a reference to such a set in any of the Gilbert Chemistry Set listings I've run across. The best description I can give of it is as follows: 1. It can in a cardboard box, similar to a board game box such as Monopoly. It was NOT housed in any kind of metal box or container. 2. The top cover cardboard coloration was essentially red. 3. It contained eight (8) glass-bottled chemicals with (I think) yellowish labels, a metal test tube rack, a piece each of blue and red litmus paper, a candle (there was NO alcohol lamp included in this set), a paper manual, two (2) glass test tubes (I think that was the number of tubes), a metal measure (small measuring spoon), and metal tongs to hold the test tube. I think I can remember some of the chemical names: Sulfur, Ferric Ammonium Sulfate, Borax, Sodium Carbonate, Phenolphthalein - and that is about all I can recall. Can anyone help me locate this chemistry set? I'd like to least find a photo of the set. Thank you for any help you can offer. Regards. |
