From: "Crow T Robot"
Was any paper money ever printed in 2000? Assuming you mean in the US. Yes, but thyere are no Series 2000 Notes. Please read on: There is a misconception among newer and non Note collectors. The "Series" year is not the year of print. Note Series do not necesarilly identify the year of print, as do coins. Here's basically how it works: When the person who is the Secretary of the Treasury changes (signature on the lower right of a bill), that Series year is used for that person's tenure, unless there is a major design change in the Notes; during that time, if the Treasurer of the United States (signature on the lower left) changes, or there is a minor design change, a suffix letter is added to the Series Year (as in Series 1988-A). The Treasurer is appointed, the Secretary of the Treasury is a cabinet position. Some of the more recent Federal Reserve Note Series & signature combinations (since 1993): Series / Treasurer / Secretary of the Treasury 1993 / Mary Withrow / Lloyd Benson 1995 / Mary Withrow / Robert Rubin 1999 / Mary Withrow / Laurence Summers 2001 / Rosario Marin / Paul O'Neill 2003 / Rosario Marin / John Snow In 2003, Rosario Marin resigned, and that post has yet to be filled. If it is, prior to a major design change or a re-posting of the Secretary of the Treasury, we might see a Series 2003-A. Notes are printed all the time, but the series does not itself identify when. There also is no Series 1997, 1998, or 2002. For certain larger denominations, there is a Series 1996 & 2004, because those Notes experienced major design changes (the "big head" Notes and the "colorized 20's"). HTH 8-| - Coin Saver |

(Personally, I would prefer larger type in different colors, but that is my own fault for not wearing glasses when I work online.) The presentation is logical. The layout is uncluttered. The subject matter is compelling. There are several nice paper money websites out there and collectors all have interesting notes, of course. Within that context, though, I found this exceptional.
