Thanks to everyone for the warm reception. I'm reading as many posts
as I can get to. It's like dying and coming back to find all the stuff you missed. (A H) wrote in message ... welcome Thomas. I think you are the first we have had. I do have a question for you. Why is your name Thomas spelled with the H but if I shorten it to Tom there is no H? I forget the rest of the world not only uses the metric system and watches soccer, but they put "h"s in Tom. I'm from New York where the "H" would only throw us off and we'd make fun of it (unfortunately). As for collecting... Morgans (mostly de-slabbed and wretched looking - just how I likes it.) Colonial British coinage Sovereigns Spanish dollars and all silver crowns bullion bullion bullion Hope to get my collection on the net shortly. Sorry if my collecting interests bore some of you...sometimes I wish I had more eclectic interests like British Medals issued during Tudor England between the first and second War of the Roses... I'm just not that well refined. Thanks again. Thomas |

Happy to be part of this A.B. Welcome! Looks like check-in day at RCC! tell us about your collection. Bruce (Any other lurkers want to sign in?) I just started reading this NG a couple days ago. I have begun collecting US Mint Proof Sets particularily am looking on e-bay for Silver Proof sets from 1999-2002 (already have ordered 2003 sets directly from the mint). I am also interested in sets earlier than 1999 to a lesser degree. I am also big time into collecting State Quarters. |

Hi Thomas-
Lots of us start with current US Mint offerings. After you have accumulated the Silver Proof Sets (they started in 1992), you may want to take a look at modern commems. They're cool, and you can still get the Wright Brothers set (50c, $1, $10) at issue prices, and the Edison commem ($1) in both mint state/uncirculated and proof versions from the US Mint website. And take the trouble to buy a Red Book (A Guide Book of US Coins) at your local bookseller--invaluable info about the hobby! Regards, Tom |

I am not really new to the group, Been here about 9 months but since everyone
is asking what we all collect I'll tell a little of my collection. I mainly collect proof coins, Usually from 1999 (State Quarters) on till now. I would like to move into the other proof sets but once you go down that road there is really no going back. And right now I just don't have the money to want to go down that road just yet. Someday though. I also collect proof Silver eagles, again from 1999 till now. Mainly i got into those to kind of supplement the price of my silver proof sets whenever I sell them. The past few months I have been getting into some foreign coins, Canadian coins and paper currency. Both U.S. Currency and some Iraqi Dinars for right now. But overall proof coins or silver proof sets seem to be my passion. And for some unknown reason whenever I buy graded coins I only buy PCGS PR69 coins. I won't buy any other grading service. I have no clue why, Maybe its just a uniformity thing. lol Steve |

As a relative newbie myself, how does one go about such a thing as this?
Thanks! L.C. Oliver Coin Saver wrote: Oh, and you also need to: obtain an RCC ember, and get on the RCC mint mailing line to get / send an RCC "coin" ... 8-) Coin Saver |
