It's becoming a bad habit of the BoE auctioning low numbered notes, they
auction some in January 2003 and the prices were very high.

I like low numbered notes of new Scottish issued but not enough to pay mega
bucks for one. Billy

At least with the Scottish ones, Pam West is in cahouts with the banks and
she gets them and sells them off at a profit but not an auction price.

When the BoE issued a new note design collectors could go to the bank HQ and
get first prefix low number notes at face, but not now.

They stopped this and the notes are now auctioned, by Spink so far, though
the proceeds of the January 2003 sale was given to charity so I suppose that
no one can complain.

Some collectors of Scottish notes, not me :-(, have contacts at the Scottish
banks that allows them to get first/last low/high numbered notes at face.

I have to buy them from such collectors at a small premium over face which
I'm perfectly happy to do.

I think that Pam buys them from the collectors that have contacts at the
banks and not directly from the banks. Billy
