Default A question..... buying stamps when they are issued

Hi,

My daughter is collecting Disney stamps and is interested in having them
sent to her as they are issued. Is there some easy way to do this? How
much of a premium would you have to pay for such a service?

Any help is appreciated.

btw clicking reply won't work so I'll only see replies to the group.

Steve

I am not sure how you get copies of all Disney stamps at the moment, or even
how you know when new ones are issued.

You can increase the likelihood of picking most of them up by subscribing to
a new issue service, some of which will send out stamps conforming to
particular themes as well as those from countries required by the
subscriber.

The only new issue service that I am acquainted with in the UK is Benhams of
Folkestone, and you can do no harm to contact them on 01303 226777. Expect
to pay about twice face value, with a minimum price usually applying to low
value items.

Best regards, Roger

Interesting to note, after two years of buying odd lots
of "phossick boxes" at auctions, I have yet to meet with
one solitary single Disney Stamp in my purchases.

I do remember 1 dedicated lot of packaged Disney being offered at auction,
it failed to get a bid, the reserve was about $1 a stamp IIRC, ($15 a packet)

What I would do, is attend your next local Stamp Fair, there are always
(here, at least) dealers who specialise in Topicals (Thematics) and
Disney appears prominent.
Take along your daughter, she will love it, (not so for your wallet

Herrick Stamps does new issues by topic.

Or so they say.

Thanks for all the replies, I've bookmarked Herrick for later.

We have an excellent source for Disney in eBay. And my daughter's even
selling her spare Disney sets on there, not bad for an 11 year old! I'll
certainly compare prices at a Stamp Fair but those US prices are very
reasonable, more like $1 a set than $1 a stamp.

My stamp dealer has told me that Disney has withdrawn their
permission/license (or whatever it may be called) so that no new
stamps will be issued. I don't know if that information is correct,
perhaps you should check it out.

If that's true, prices on these stamps will rise considerably!

Hi Steve,

Besides Herrick stamps take a look at Marlen stamps in New York.
