2600 record stops

Hi all
I have a wurlitzer 2600 ( amp. rebuilt) that after a few plays and
warmed up the record stops playing. Last night after warm up this
problem started, in troubleshooting i noticed that if i turn off power
and back on again it operates fine for a few plays then stops again.
Also during this problem (record stopped in play) i took belt off, spun
record, but no audio. could it be the motor heating up and a thermal
resistor cutting audio and motor out?
