Default NY Is Book Country - RIP?

After many succesful years on 5th Ave, in 2004 the fair moved down to
the Village (and sucked too).
Last year it was called off.
Anybody know if it is gone for good?

I haven't seen anything about it for this year, and Google turns up
nothing, either.

Too bad. It was a nice place to see books and authors, and the weather
was usually favorable.

It's gone for good, to be replaced with better...

You just missed the Brooklyn Book Festival, which was excellent. See
http://www.brooklynbookfestival.org/.
I have a few photos of the festival and a couple of writers, like
Jonathan Lethem, at
http://www.dentontaylor.com/lit/lit.htm

A better replacement in Manhattan is co-sponsored by B&N and the NYT.
It will be held in Bryant Park October 15th. Last year it was a
collector's dream, wih dozens of authors available to sign. No details
yet this year but stay tuned at
http://209.131.117.124/greatread/

And of course, the New Yorker Festival, which gets more commercial by
the year, but still some good stuff. October 6-8.
