What makes you think that it is not possible to spend the 18 dollar

coins as
soon as the next purchase of anything?

Tony

What gave you the impression I think it's not possible to spend the 18

dollar
coins on my next purchase? All I said is that I would not want 18 dollar

coins
in change from a vending machine any more than I would want that many from

a
clerk at a register. If all I had with me was a twenty and I wanted

something
from a vending machine, I would borrow a smaller bill from someone or

simply
pass until later.

I fail to see how this is any different than getting a bunch of quarters. I
assume you would avoid the machine if it dispensed quarters for the same
reason so this is really a non-point.

Maybe composed of lead, then it would be dense like him. And, give it
an outrageously oversized portrait too, to match his fat head.

Also, at first, downplay the anticipated success of it so that later on you
can claim it exceeded expectations.

Not much difference at all. Personally, I avoid using any vending machine if
all I have is a large bill and using it would likely result in one side of my
pants falling down and bruises on my leg. (I should make it clear that I'm
referring here to the amount of change I would receive, not the product the
machine offers.)

Good question!

Banks can do almost anything they want. If they want you to stand on
one leg and ask "pretty please can I have some of my money back?" they
can do so.

It is up to the customer to let them know what you want. If they refuse
to provide you with the service you want, you can move your money to
another bank. Or you can simply relax, go limp, stop complaining, and
do exactly what they tell you to do. many Washington Mutual customers
have done so and are happy in their blissful numbness. The tellers at
many of their branches are not really tellers - they simply stand next
to a version of an ATM and your money is fed into or spit out of the
machine. if the machine cannot handle the denomination you have or
request it's too bad.

The machines I use accept bills up to $20 denomination. And dispense

I think it is up to the individual vending company what machines
take. The company my stepdad works for is pretty jerky.

Our vendor is likewise. On a tip from RCC, I discovered that our vending
machines happily accepted $2s. I used them for about a month, and then
suddenly they stopped working. The only thing I can imagine is that the
operator got tired of seeing them, and flipped the switch to reject
them.

There are load of casinos that DO
use the dollar coins. But everybody cashes them out to "real" money
before they leave the casino. LOL!

I presume they're "coloring up" to higher denomination bills. Certainly
it makes sense to trade 40 Sackies for two $20s.

But if someone is trading in two-three Sackies for rag-bucks; well,
that's just lame.

In the UK, the
1 pound coin (worth about $1.80) is the size a nickel and has been
accepted by the public.

It is quite heavier than a US nickel though which goes against the classic
"coins weigh you down" argument.
