Rodney, you seemed surprised at the amount of my electrical service. I
did not see what you pay in Oz land. My basic telephone service is $15.52, 30 min free long distance and after that it is 10c per minute. This month total was $77.30. How does it add up in Australia? Can't find your email address but I do have the 2151 house number. Ralphael, the OLD one |

Hello Ralph,
why OT? this topic comes under "communication" as does "computer philately" My bill is approx the same, albeit communications is a widely fluctuating expenditure for the consumer. There are few benchmarks. We are a relatively planet friendly household. Our calls are 18c local, ( we made 12 calls last month) landline phone rental is $25, silent number $3 Broadband $18 per month. The entire bill inc broadband around $50 to $75 per month. (I wonder how that equates to the equivalent 1840's communications in stamps) We recently bought our first mobiles, one for the schoolbag, and one for the purse, so those calls are not included we just use pre paids in those. We use the post office for all our bill payments, there isn't a trader we use, that isn't an AustPost client. My basic telephone service is $15.52, 30 min free long distance and after that it is 10c per minute. This month total was $77.30. How does it add up in Australia? Can't find your email address but I do have the 2151 house number. Ralphael, the OLD one |

Now, to answer (for France) to a question asked by Ralph (for Oz :-) Here, I pay each month 30 Euros for : - all my phone calls (no limit in time) to most of the countries in the world - my calls to mobile phones in a few countries (like the US, Canada, ....) - unlimited ADSL Internet connection (8 MB) - unlimited access to about 100 TV channels This excludes my mobile phone calls to mobiles in France : just for that I need a separate subscription (10 Euros a month). -- All the best, Pierre Courtiade to answer me, please replace NOSPAM by my family name |

Excellent conditions, Pierre. Here in Switzerland I pay CHF 25 to the former stately owned telephone company just for the connection, and CHF 48 for ADSL 2MB to a provider. And I pay each call, as well in CH as abroad. -- Victor Manta ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Philatelic Webmasters Organization: http://pwmo.org/ Art on Stamps: http://artonstamps.org/ Romania by Stamps: http://marci-postale.com/ Communism on Stamps: http://reds-on.postalstamps.biz/ Spanish North Africa: http://www.sna-on.postalstamps.biz/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Bonjour Pierre,
The house number I have for Rod is 2/51 instead of 2151. I am wondering who is right ? Global warming had us move, we are now nearer the city, near the top of a hill Here, I pay each month 30 Euros for : - all my phone calls (no limit in time) to most of the countries in the world That's it, I'm moving to France. We saw a lovely documentary on the "professional story tellers" of France yesterday evening. That would make a fantastic stamp issue/s in my opinion. |

the slooow dialup. You should make enquiries Ralph, I find Broadband cheaper than dialup. Logging on, is just a "switch on" at the wall plug. your free daily antivirus loads as you blink. "pass the Pina Colada!" |
