Default Americover Hotel Rate Under $100 Again

AMERICOVER 2007 HOLDS THE LINE AGAIN:
UNDER-$100 ROOM RATE AT LUXURY HOTEL

Feb. 19, 2007 - Once again, the American First Day Cover Society, the
world's oldest and largest non-profit organization for FDC collectors,
has kept rates at the show hotel for its Americover 2007 show and
convention under $100, at $99.

The three-day World Series of Philately show will be held August 17-19
at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, and will feature a large
mostly-FDC bourse, cachetmakers bourse, top exhibits, a banquet,
meetings, seminars, youth booth, pre-show area tour and post-show
dinner event. A first day of issue ceremony and a forum by postal
officials involved with first day covers is also likely.

In recent years, Americover visitors have stayed at a Sheraton near
Washington, D.C.; an Embassy Suites hotel near Cleveland; and
Marriotts in Houston, Denver and Indianapolis - all for less than $100
a night. The Stamford Marriott has 500 rooms on 16 floors, 28 meeting
rooms, two restaurants and a bar, and an indoor/outdoor swimming pool.
The Agora Spa is available for facials, massages and more.

"This is one of the most luxurious hotels we've ever had for
Americover," says facilities coordinator Michael A. Mellone.

The hotel will provide complimentary shuttle service to the Stamford
train station, which provides service to New York and Boston.

Americover is one of three WSP shows that move to different locations
around the country each year. (The other two are the American
Philatelic Society's Stampshow and the American Topical Association's
National Topical Stamp Show.) This is Americover's first visit to New
England since 1993 and its first appearance in the New York metro area
since 2003 (which was in Somerset, N.J.). Collectors from all over the
country attend Americover annually, no matter where it is held.

To obtain the special Americover room rate, call the Marriott
reservation line at 888-236-2427or the hotel directly at 203-357-9555
and specify "Americover."

The American First Day Cover Society, with more than 2300 members
worldwide, was founded in 1955. It is an affiliate of the APS, and
itself has more than 48 chapters in the U.S. and Australia, including
ones in Norwalk and Waterbury, Conn. Besides its annual convention,
the AFDCS publishes handbooks, produces first day covers, holds
several auctions each year, and publishes the award-winning journal
First Days eight times a year.

For more information on Americover 2007 and the AFDCS, contact the
AFDCS at P.O. Box 16277, Tucson, Arizona 85732-6277, or
