Default ANA Reports Results of Cipoletti Evaluation

Why do they find it necessary to have an evaluation at all?
I don't recall such things when Ed Rochette was running
the show. All the efforts to "prove" how wonderful Cipoletti is
could be better spent actually making the ANA work. Why
don't poll the membership? I seem to recall that it was once
their organization.

The ANA does typically respond to feedback. It's not like you can't
tell them what you think. If they sent a poll to 32000 members or
even the 19000 email subscribers someone would complain about the cost
of compiling the poll.

The ANA has an "image" problem and it centers around Cipoletti, the
survey
results are intended to show that he is a good person to work for and
that if
the employees believe in him then the membership should as well. It
is all PR.

I'm no fan of the E.D. but I think the ANA has more of a disinterest
problem than an image problem. Out of the 32000 members how many
actively try to get their voice heard?

I think to many people the ANA is just a magazine subscription and
they don't
really look upon it as an organization that does a whole lot else so
they are disinterested in general.

I've never been a member, but that's what I presume ANA to be. A magazine
of marginal interest in any given issue, and maybe some comfort if you
happen to hang out with other collectors who all are members. Library
books? I would rather buy any specific reference books that I will use
regularly rather than send away and borrow one. Now, if active ANA members
would receive significant discounts on all coin purchases.................

I still get email polls and assorted missives from the ANA, now two years
after my membership lapsed.

Hehe. And I have a hard time staying on their list. I'm sure they'll
try to remove you if you ask.

And as PR, it is properly termed "Damage Control".
Damage Control usually backfires.
