Default US postmark query.

Is anyone aware of a link that deals with US Postmarks?
In particular, I am chasing the meanings and varieties
of "footprint" (I think that's what they are referred to) cancels.

For example, "P", "RMS" "Ferry" "Air Mail" and the like.

Thank you Dave,
not quite what I was after,
these are "specialised markings", I was after the
common early US Oval markings, and the duplex "footprint" cancels.

that was very helpful, I also learnt a recent 1908 Franklin
I had catalogued as ("possibly stationery"), was in fact
my first known example of a US imperf of that era.
