WHere to store coins?
Now that I have a coin collection.
Like what the hell to do with it? Where do you put the darn coins without having to worry about someone stealing them? |

Considering the attitude of disdain you just showed toward your collection, I'd suggest liquidating it and buying something that causes you less grief, like white chocolate truffles or something. Presumably you own other valuable tangible property. You should kinda do the same type of things that you do to protect your other property. DOH. oly |

DOH. oly Put your coins on a table in your front yard near the street. Once they are stolen (which should be relatively soon) you will never have to worry about them being stolen again. Unless, of course, you buy some more - in which case you should repeat the previous step. oly |

I'd be glad to keep them for you. Or if it's a valuable collection there are safes you can bolt to your fllor or wall. |

... Now that I have a coin collection. Like what the hell to do with it? Where do you put the darn coins without having to worry about someone stealing them? I am late to this thread and I have read all the sarcastic and negative responses. The OP asks a valid question and it one that I have asked. I have (2) safe deposit boxes (because of size) for my coins even though I store them the bulk at home especially stuff the US mint. My collection includes collecting stuff (state quarters), investing (slabs), and modern UNC/proof sets. I have insurance for most of my coins which is expensive. I am not worried about theft so much as I am worried about environmental damage. Especially my UNC copper cents. Questions I have include: - Do slabbed coins protect the coins humidity or heat? I used to store some of them in kitchen drawers. - I have littleton folders stored in bookshelves. Temps range from 40 - 110 degrees. - My coin dealer (whom I trustimplicitly) warned me about safe deposit boxes not controlling humidity/temp Is this a real concern? Tom |
