Default US Revenue Perfins

Hi
The (US) Perfins Club has a long going project to develope a catalog of
all ( cancellations or security or identification ) perforated or cut outs (
initials, numbers, designs ) that are found on US ( Federal, State, Local)
revenues, revenue stamped paper, or fiscal documents that might have
revenues attached. Over the years it has expanded from just security
perforated initials to the broad scope indicated above. It has also had two
editors die in harness over the last twelve years or longer.

Are there any readers of this newsgroup who might be interested in this
project? Are there any readers with collections / accumulations of US or
state revenues who would be willing to check their holding for possible
additions to the catalog and the number and types (documentary, stock
transfer, beer, etc) of the patterns listed in the draft catalog pages?

Any help or comments would be appreciated. Art

This sounds like a painful project! [ But, I digress here. ]

This is a HUGE undertaking and bless the heart of anyone doing it -
they'd have my respect!

Can't help out, but best of luck and fortune on the project. It will
help fill in many holes in this area and some people's thinking as
well.

People may think that perfins are trash, but having seen a few 1000
stamps looked over (these were WW) and then passed on to a perfin
collector or 2, this is definitely not an easy task to amass their
numbers nor decipher their origins.

Keep the faith, Art - someone will appear, ready to help out.
