USENET post cancellations
Has anyone been noticing an exhorbitant amount of post
cancellations recently? My provider, RoadRunner, keeps a 7 day interval of non-binary usenet groups. The way I've been reading RCC is with a *nix client called slrn. I download the headers and try to catch up during the day when I have a break in work. Usually its no more than 3 hours from when i download the headers until I have a chance to read them. Since Monday, I've come across a LOT of messages where I go to click the header, and my news server tells me the message is no longer available. I don't think its a problem with my news server, but I could be wrong. Is anyone else noticing this? Anyone finding any of their posts missing? I'll post a followup sometime in the next 24 hours with information about any posts that are missing. -- ______ ______ ..-----.|__ ||__ | eXistenZ32 | -__||__ || __| e@: usenet-at.-transparentmeat-dot-net |_____||______||______

I have noticed RR does not always keep as much on their newsspool as their ads claim. Bruce |

I doubt that Clayton is smart enough to forge cancels. Bruce |

Just what caught my eye was so many of them were AH related. Thanks -- ______ ______ ..-----.|__ ||__ | eXistenZ32 | -__||__ || __| e@: usenet-at.-transparentmeat-dot-net |_____||______||______

Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but Comcast recently started moving all their servers from the old attbi -- I signed onto the attbi news server this morning, and all posts had disappeared, replaced by a single Comcast post telling me to change servers. Usually I connect to Usenet via news.cis.dfn.de, and there I haven't noticed anything amiss. -- Bob |

I used to use Agent, but couldn't figger out how to do it, so I am using Netscape, I think. Aram. |

But I didn't get the original in this thread, and have been seeing almost half of all posts on several newsgroups missing. So there probably is nothing sinister going on, it is most likely just problems along the line. Nobody could possibly object to RCC articles and subject matter. Joe Fischer -- 3 |
